Interim Deputy Head of Maths and English
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Salary: £41,992 per annum pro rata

Hours: Full - Time 

Contract Type: Temporary role 18 months
 

Join a forward-thinking educational institution committed to innovation and skills development. As Interim Deputy Head of Maths and English, you’ll operationally lead the team, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning that empowers learners to achieve and progress.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Department and cross-site teams to drive curriculum planning, quality improvement, and learner outcomes. From leading team meetings and managing performance to coordinating exams and analysing data, your role will be pivotal in shaping the learner experience.

You’ll also support the implementation of MEZO workshops and collaborate with vocational and support teams to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operational line management of Maths & English staff
  • Leading curriculum planning and delivery
  • Conducting professional reviews and identifying CPD needs
  • Coordinating EQA visits and quality assurance activities
  • Supporting attendance improvement strategies
  • Leading team meetings and scrutiny of KPIs
  • Managing November exam entries and preparation
  • Promoting independent learning through MEZO workshops

 

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven leadership in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of curriculum planning and quality assurance
  • Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvements
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Enhanced DBS within the last three months or on update service (required), or would be willing to undergo a Enhanced DBS
