Regional Coverage: Predominantly South Yorkshire (travel to Notts & Derby) Contract Status: Permanent Employee Standard Week: 42.5 Hours (08:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
We're recruiting on behalf of a major Facilities Management provider for a skilled and adaptable engineer to join their growing team. This permanent position involves executing crucial planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a network of supermarket locations throughout the South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire areas. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide essential operational support by managing reactive maintenance requests, especially during high-demand seasons like summer and peak trading.
Our client's robust 24/7 engineering service ensures constant support for their customers' equipment. This includes participation in a standby rota, requiring a minimum of 4 full weeks of cover annually, encompassing evenings and weekends.
Your Primary Duties Will Include:
- Timely execution of PPM schedules, ensuring all related documentation is completed accurately and according to established protocols.
- Completing reactive maintenance tasks within stipulated deadlines, with meticulous attention to paperwork completion.
- Rapidly identifying non-repairable faults, informing the Line Manager, and proposing appropriate solutions for replacement.
- Ensuring all technical and compliance documentation is meticulously maintained and current.
- Contributing to the out-of-hours standby rota (a minimum of 4 weeks annually) and managing communication regarding any required cover for holidays or unforeseen circumstances to your line manager.
Candidate Profile:
Core Requirements:
- NVQ/C&G in Refrigeration
- Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or an equivalent CITB certification
- Successful completion of a Time Served Apprenticeship
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Possession of a Valid Full Driving Licence
Highly Beneficial:
- Certification in Hydrocarbon refrigerants
- Training in CO2 Refrigerant systems
- Demonstrable experience within commercial or supermarket environments
