Job spec & Description:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching assistant qualification: Cache level 2 or level 3 diploma in supporting teaching and learning in schools  or equivalent.
  • Experience working with ASD in Special schools or similar setting.
  • Additional training is an advantage; Autism Awareness, Team Teach, PECS, MAKATON, FIRST AID.
  • Must have patience and empathy.
  • Good communication, including non-verbal strategies.
  • Adaptability
  • Understanding of sensory and communication needs.
  • Must hold Child and Adult workforce DBS on the subscription service or willing to obtain a new one.
