NRC Staffing are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic commis chef inBarley/Roystonarea to join our clients popular traditional pub serving excellent quality food!

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, along with the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing food production, ensuring high standards of food safety, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

This particular client is looking for a Commis and Demi chef who love to cook from fresh and produce home made meals for their guests!

Duties for the job role:

  • Section Control:Manage a section of the kitchen (grill, fryer, larder, or sauces) during service.
  • Cooking & Prep:Prepare and cook traditional pub dishes and specials to the required standard.
  • Consistency:Ensure food is served hot, well-presented, and portion sizes remain consistent.
  • Stock & Ordering:Monitor stock levels, rotate supplies, minimise waste, and assist with ordering.
  • Hygiene & Safety:Keep your section clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards.
  • Organised:Organise prep work efficiently to support busy lunch and dinner services.
  • Teamwork:Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth service.
  • Flexibility:Be ready to jump onto another section when needed to help the team.
  • Customer Focus:Take pride in serving quality food that enhances the guest experience in a relaxed pub environment
  • The ability to cook withfresh ingredientsand make recipes from scratch
  • Menu Creativity- contribute your ideas, have confidence in your cooking and trust you abilities to work independently on your station.
