Multi-sector precision engineering business is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to join on a permanent basis. The role is responsible for leading activities within the inspection department focused on dimensional inspection.

Salary:  £ Negotiable + Bonus + Pension + 4 Day Working Week (Mon to Thurs)


The Role

The Senior Quality Inspector will be responsible for day-to-day quality inspection functions including measurement and analysis of precision engineered parts produced to fine tolerances.

The Senior Quality Inspector mentor a team of Quality Inspectors and Apprentices. You will ensure that quality assurance policies are compliant with industry standards and regulations such as AS9100.

The Senior Quality Inspector will support the review and maintenance of the business’ Quality Management System (QMS) and will ensure they keep up to date with the latest updates in standards and industry requirements.

You will use and oversee the use of various measurement tools including CMM, manual measurement devices and ensure that inspections are conducted both during and after the manufacturing process. Ideally you will possess proven CMM programming experience preferably on Mitutoyo, LK, Zeiss, or Hexagon platforms.

The Senior Quality Engineer will support effective supplier engagement, root cause analysis of quality issues and ensure that the appropriate corrective action plan is implemented.


The Person

The Senior Quality Inspector will have a proven history in measurement and inspection of precision engineered parts within an aerospace environment working to AS9100 standards. Experience in other sectors such as automotive, oil & gas, defence or general industrial areas is also highly welcomed for the role.

You will be competent user of both CMM and Manual measurement tools and be well versed in maintaining accurate and audited records in a quality engineering environment.

The Senior Quality Engineer will have previous experience in mentoring and developing Quality Inspectors and Apprentices. You will be comfortable engaging with customers and visitors to site and enjoy working in a detail-driven, quality-first business.
