Senior Mechanical Engineer

T2M are currently working alongside an innovative engineering business who focus on the development and reengineering of industrial machinery for a variety of sectors, to help them to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for leading on the design, analysis and reconfiguration of a variety of rotating machinery projects including work on motors, generators and turbines.

Key Duties as a Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • To lead Mechanical design and engineering of new machinery (both the stator, rotor components and complete machines), upgrades and retrofits.
  • Root cause analysis of failed machinery.
  • Complete stress analysis including FEA.
  • To produce test methodologies and instructions for the dynamic testing of large machines and subsequent analysis of results.
  • To produce repair instructions for failed equipment.
  • Undertake diagnostic activity on machinery prior to failure, including on site analysis of machine condition and compilation of life assessment reports.
  • Assist with the tendering and project management teams to win new projects and provide technical oversight through to completion.

Skills and experience required to be a successful Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • An understanding of rotating machines such as motors, generators, turbines, pumps or comparable equipment desirable.
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams and developing junior engineers.
  • Experience working within an engineering design environment essential.
  • Familiarity of a variety of manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently when required.

This role will be based from the companies headquarters in Rugby with a salary of up to 60,000 available for the role depending on experience.
