Are you an experienced HR professional ready to hit the ground running? We're recruiting on behalf of a local council for a Temporary HR Advisor to support their Work Services Unit. This is a hands-on role offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced public sector environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering expert HR advice across employee relations, recruitment, pay and grading

• Supporting restructures, change management, and redundancy consultations

• Coaching managers and employees through training and mentoring sessions

• Championing health, wellbeing, and equality initiatives

• Liaising with trade unions and ensuring compliance with employment legislation

• Contributing to job evaluations and strategic workforce planning

• Maintaining accurate records and supporting data-driven HR improvements

What You’ll Bring

• Solid HR advisory experience, ideally in unionised or public sector settings

• Strong working knowledge of employment law and ACAS guidelines

• Confident communicator with coaching and influencing skills

• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
