Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Salary: Up to £44,000
Hours: MondayThursday, 06:0016:00 (38 hours/week)

Poolhall Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading precision engineering business in Rugby to find an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to lead their inspection team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving world-class quality standards in a high-performing AS9100-accredited environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager and Managing Director, you will lead the day-to-day activities of the inspection team and quality lab. Youll be responsible for upholding rigorous quality assurance processes across all production operations, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement throughout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the inspection team; oversee training and performance.

  • Program and operate Mitutoyo Crysta Apex CMMs using MCOSMOS V5.

  • Inspect precision machined components using CMM, scanners, and first-principles methods.

  • Support internal audits and maintain AS9100:2016 Rev D compliance.

  • Develop inspection plans and standard operating procedures.

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Maintain detailed documentation and quality metrics.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and procurement teams.

What Were Looking For
  • Proven leadership experience in a quality inspection or quality engineering role.

  • Expert in Mitutoyo CMM and MCOSMOS programming.

  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100:2016 Rev D.

  • Precision engineering background with excellent attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and materials.

  • High standard of record-keeping and documentation.

  • IT proficient, especially with Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Proactive, solution-focused, and passionate about continuous improvement.
