IT Infrastructure Technical Support

A new exciting opportunity has become available for an IT Infrastructure Technical Support to join on a 12month FTC basis with a leading IT, Infrastructure company.

This role involves managing a user capacity of 700, applying system updates, and integrating new technologies into existing environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server administration, virtualization technologies, and network management as well as excellent experience using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software.
  • Analyse system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems.
  • Escalate complex queries to the Senior Infrastructure Team Leader.
  • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data centre environments.
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software.
  • Manage backups and restores as required.
  • Address technical queries and assist users.
  • Document the configuration of the computing and networking infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems.
  • Tune system and network performance to ensure optimal infrastructure operation.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party suppliers to aid in problem determination.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in server administration, specifically with Windows (AD).
  • Understanding of Hyper-V Virtualization technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of software and patch management systems such as WSUS and SCCM.
  • Proficient in Windows Active Directory Management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Ability to produce detailed, accurate design and procedure documents.
  • Knowledge of Azure technologies and Office 365 administration. 
  • Additional skills in Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot are highly desirable.
