This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where your decisions will directly impact product quality, availability, and margin.You'll need strong industry knowledge, a passion for seafood, and the confidence to operate across the entire value chain - from early-morning market sourcing to strategic category planning.What You'll Be Doing:* Managing the seafood category from sourcing and pricing to merchandising and supplier relationships.* Visiting the market to monitor stock and ensure product availability and accuracy.* Acting as a key contact for both suppliers and internal teams across Commercial, Operations, and Transport.* Collaborating with the Commercial Director on category strategy and commercial projects.* Driving quality, freshness, and sustainable sourcing across all products.* Keeping up to date with seafood trends and consumer preferences to inform decisions.What We're Looking For:* Proven experience in buying or category management within seafood or fresh fish.* A strong network and solid understanding of the UK seafood market.* Confident negotiator with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.* Highly organised and commercially aware, with a strong attention to detail.* Comfortable starting early initially (4am) and working onsite; flexibility available once established.Package & Benefits:* £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience* Car allowance (negotiable)* Bonus (negotiable)* Nest pension* 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidaysWhy Join?We're a proudly diverse and growing business, with nearly 20 nationalities represented across the team.
