Salary - £39,000 + Shift Premium of 13% (£5,000)
About the roleAs an HGV Technician, you will get the opportunity to be a part of a team supporting a long-term contract to provide all vehicles and equipment, including maintenance and servicing.
Key responsibilities
- Service and repair defects on fire vehicles within the fleet.
- Work on 32-metre and 64-metre aerials, the UK's first Electric Fire engine, and fire pumps.
- Diagnose faults and test vehicles using recognised procedures and techniques, including road testing where necessary.
- Work efficiently and productively, achieving targets set by Workshop Supervisors or Managers.
- Operate a 'Fix First Time' approach ensuring high-quality work.
- Drive within legal parameters.
- Perform manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.
Working HoursThis role is full time, 40 hours per week, based on-site at Ruislip. Typical hours are 06:00-14:30 and 13:00-22:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for alternative patterns.
About the candidate
- Experience in Mechanical Workshops or Car Plants.
- Experience in servicing and repairing HGVs / LGVs.
- Experience with Heavy Vehicles
- A proactive approach with the ability to work well in a team.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level-3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- Holding a Category B and/or C Drivers License is desirable.
Security Clearance:The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
