Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of our well established client in the Runcorn area a Warehouse Team Leader


Job Title: Team Leader


Role Purpose:

To responsibly lead and motivate a team of Warehouse Colleagues to consistently deliver an efficient operation in line with both internal and external processes to deliver and exceed customer expectations.

Ensuring high standards of Health and Safety are applied to the working area and shift, as well as ensuring proven best practice process methods are applied and followed with a continuous improvement approach.

The successful candidate will head up a small team within the warehouse on a manual contract to deliver KPI's and SLA's in line with contractual agreements.


Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:

  • To ensure that all legislative and site processes are followed and assist management with integrating the health & safety culture being developed.
  • Accountable and responsible for the performance output of a dedicated team working with KPI's and SLA's.
  • Maintain strong levels of inventory control within your area of remit to ensure site performs within the dedicated tolerance levels.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping and organisational layout in line with site standards.
  • Working alongside the customer, develop the operational processes, layout, and flow to optimise performance output.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure that Inbound and associated put away activity is managed in line with customer agreed processes and within the required SLA.
  • Ensure discrepancies or non-conformance of all deliveries - stock and consumables are escalated to the customer and inventory team.
  • To ensure all colleagues within the working area follow all H&S processes and procedures in place.
  • Identify, raise and review potential process improvements to site management team and always look for new CI initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate management behaviours in line with the company values.
  • Conduct daily team briefings, one to one meeting, return to works and coaching conversations where required as part of your day-to-day role. In some instances, supporting the senior managers in completing relevant HR related meetings.

Key responsibilities continued:

  • Maintain and develop standards of employee performance, whilst ensuring their conduct and discipline is of a professional standard.

Team management: develop, lead and motivate your people to achieve challenging operational KPIs

You'll lead the team on health & safety, showing good working practices, as you'll be responsible for keeping all our operational processes fully compliant whilst keeping your people safe

You'll actively manage your available resource, and utilise staff where possible

Maintain a constant presence within the warehouse, delivering shift briefs and preparing handovers


The successful candidate's must have's and ideals:

  • Be able to operate MHE ideally reach truck & counterbalance within a warehouse environment and hold current licences.
  • Skilled in all manners of warehouse activities - operational processes and WMS.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload. Be able to motivate and drive a high performing team.
  • Microsoft Office Skills

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours Days - Flexibility needed at times

14.00 - 15.00 dependant on experience
