Sonic Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for a short-term contract focused on migrating a data platform to Microsoft Fabric.
Candidates should have strong SQL development skills and proven experience in delivering cloud-based data solutions.
The role requires hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data tools, as well as experience in data platform migrations and pipeline modernization.
The position offers a competitive salary and requires candidates to have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Additionally, the role requires on-site work in Widnes one day per week and is classified as outside IR35.

We are currently seeking an experienced **Data Engineer** to lead the migration of an existing data platform to **Microsoft Fabric**. This short-term contract is ideal for a candidate with strong **SQL development skills** and proven experience in delivering **cloud-based data solutions**.

**Key Responsibilities**

Lead the migration of an existing data platform to **Microsoft Fabric** or Similar Azure tools
Build and optimise **ETL pipelines** using SQL and Spark
Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across the migration
Collaborate with internal teams to align technical delivery with business needs
Provide technical input on Fabric's architecture and capabilities

? **What You'll Need**

Strong hands-on experience with **Microsoft Fabric** and Azure data tools
Solid **SQL development skills** (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar)
Experience with **data platform migrations** and pipeline modernisation
Knowledge of Spark or Databricks (bonus if familiar with Python)
Able to work independently and deliver to tight timelines
Willingness to be **on-site 1 day per week in Widnes**
