EC&I Technician (Runcorn)

Profile of the role –

As an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Technician, you’ll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the EC&I equipment at the ERF, as well as providing support to other disciplines using your expertise and experience.

With responsibility for ensuring that maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant, you’ll carry out fault diagnostics and undertake corrective and reactive work.

You’ll also be responsible for delivering improvement projects, leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction.

Assisting in the co-ordination of contractors as required, you’ll ensure a safe and efficient working environment to make sure everyone gets home safe and well at the end of every day.

As we need to ensure the efficient running of the plant, this role will be part of an on call rota to ensure response to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours as well as weekends, nights and bank holidays.

What are we looking for?

Must have steam raising or power plant experience (ESSENTIAL)

Experience in EC&I engineering with process / manufacturing industry. – Chemical, Water, Power

Instrumentation knowledge is essential, however both instrumentation and electrical is key

City & Guilds / NVQ 3 / HNC (or equivalent) in relevant Engineering discipline

Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management systems.

DCS/SCADA experience.

Fully conversant with instrument loop drawing and P&IDs

Able to think logically and solve problems effectively and efficiently.

Formal electrical qualification which qualifies as multi-skilled, along with 18th edition, IEE wiring regulations would be beneficial.

Package:

We have an opportunity in Avonmouth for an EC&I Technician to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £47,500 per year (Overall Package £49,399 with callout)

1 in 4 weeks Call out

On call payment - £180 per week call out + Minimum paid per call is 4 hours @ 1.5x. bank holidays on call are given back as a day off lieu.

Overtime time ½
