Leader Group is delighted to announce the recruitment of a Headteacher for our client's brand-new school in Runcorn, opening September 2026. This specialist therapeutic educational provision will provide outstanding education and care for up to 24 pupils across Key Stages 2 and 3.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to shape a school from its very beginning, with the site set to be completed in spring 2026.

The Role

As Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing the school's culture, ethos, and vision. You will:
  • Lead the development of the school's vision, goals, and policies.
  • Promote clear values and a commitment to excellence in education for all pupils.
  • Manage and support the senior leadership team.
  • Oversee curriculum standards and monitor pupil progress.
  • Drive improvements in teaching and pupil achievement.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are rigorously implemented.
  • Provide leadership across the curriculum.
  • Review school systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Lead Ofsted preparation and maintain compliance with independent school standards.
  • Manage staff development and resources effectively.
  • Develop and deliver the School Development Plan.
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional who demonstrates:
  • A passionate approach to working with pupils with SEND.
  • Minimum of two years' experience within a SEND setting or similar provision.
  • QTS/QTLS (essential).
