Mechanical Engineer (8-Week Temporary Contract)

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support our client in Runcorn on a temporary basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global leader in sustainable raw materials, playing a key role in keeping operations running smoothly during a period of planned absence cover.



The Role:

As Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day mechanical support across plant and equipment.
  • Carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, and repair tasks to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborating with the operations team to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.
  • Following all site safety procedures and contributing to a culture of safety excellence.


What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within a process, chemical, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Commitment to high safety standards and procedures.
