Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established Runcorn-based secondary school as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable HLTA for a full-time long-term temporary contract. This school is accepting applications from experience level 3 qualified teaching assistants that are looking to take the next step in their career. Your new roleAs a teaching assistant/higher level teaching assistant within this school, you will directly support and supervise pupils on a small group and individual basis under the instruction of the SENCo. You will ensure that all support is inclusive of individual learning and specific needs, enabling equal access to learning for all pupils and ensuring that all pupils reach their full academic potential. The pupils that you will be supporting all have an SEN diagnosis as well as individual EHCPs. You will ensure that all sessions not only support their attainment needs but also meet all requirements of their EHCPs. Other duties will include general classroom and behaviour management, contributing to lesson planning including evaluations and work plans, liaising with class teachers and parents/guardians on pupil progress and providing accurate feedback on progress, appropriate evidence and pupil achievement.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be at least Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified, and have relevant referenceable classroom experience. Other desirable include:

  • Extensive experience delivering intervention and boosters in core subjects
  • Experience supporting moderate to complex SEN
  • A HLTA qualification is advantageous but not essential
