HGV Mechanics
Are you a qualified and experienced HGV mechanic?
Manpower are currently recruiting for HGV Mechanics to work for a prestigious client based in Droitwich who operate a 60+ strong fleet of Mercedes and DAF vehicles and trailers ranging from 3.5 tonnes to 44 tonnes.
As an HGV Mechanic you will assist in keeping their commitment to safety by taking responsibility for the repair and maintenance of their fleet. This will include completing day to day inspections, maintenance, diagnostics and organising and planning maintenance on trucks and trailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day maintenance of predominantly Mercedes and DAF from 7.5t to 44t. c.60 vehicles along with the c.50 trailers
- Preventative maintenance - such as vehicle inspections, tyre rotation, oil changes, servicing and MOT preparation
- Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform minor and major repairs of vehicles & trailers
- Monitoring inventory
- Sourcing parts
- Work in line with Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested
Suitable candidates will have
- NVQ Level 3 qualification preferred, but will also consider time served with opportunity to gain qualifications
- Licence entitlement not necessary and again opportunities to gain within
- Strong HGV, van, and trailer knowledge
- Ability and desire to solve mechanical problems
- Excellent work ethic with a proactive approach to the operation.
You will be required to work rotating shifts as follows;
- Monday to Friday 05.30 to 14.00
- Monday to Friday 12.00 to 20.30 & then Saturday 07.00 to 12.00
This is a permanent position paying 42120 PA plus additional bonus for being on callout on a 4-week rotation, normally when you are on a PM shift
