A market-leading UK precision engineering manufacturer, serving high-performance sectors including aerospace, defence and motorsport, is expanding following continued investment in technology and innovation. The business is known for its world-class machining capability and commitment to quality.
We are looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist/Programmer to support the production of complex, high-tolerance machined castings. You’ll play a key role in proving out new products and batch work while ensuring exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
CNC Miller Programmer Responsibilities:
- Set and operate 5-axis CNC machines for new product development and batch production
- Create and edit programs using Mazak (Mazatrol Smooth) and/or Heidenhain controls
- Work from technical drawings and specifications to determine machining operations
- Prove out complex parts engineered offline and confidently resolve machining challenges
- Carry out in-process measurements using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine maintenance to optimise machine performance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve processes and enhance product quality
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment
CNC Miller Programmer Experience:
- Level 3 machining qualification
- Minimum five years’ experience machining complex ferrous and non-ferrous components
- Skilled with Heidenhain and/or Mazak 5-axis controls (offline programming experience welcome)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with confidence in proving out development parts
- Ability to interpret technical drawings with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
