Polytec are seeking a Senior Design and Development Engineer to take innovative concepts from early prototype through to refined, manufacturable products. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role ideal for an engineer who loves building, experimenting, problem-solving and rapidly iterating within workshop and RandD environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype and develop new products
- Use CAD software to produce detailed designs, refine concepts and support rapid prototyping
- Build, test and iterate physical prototypes to improve performance and reliability
- Solve complex engineering challenges with practical, creative solutions
- Improve product durability, efficiency, manufacturability and overall design
- Work hands-on in workshop and RandD facilities to accelerate product development cycles
Requirements
- Strong hands-on engineering skills and a passion for building and problem-solving
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and the ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
- Experience taking products from concept through prototype to production
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Must be able to work onsite in workshop/RandD facilities five days a week
- Good communication skills, including the ability to train non-technical staff
