As a Traffic Management Coordinator, you will play a key role in planning and executing safe and efficient traffic management solutions for a variety of civil engineering projects. Working closely with project managers, local authorities, and contractors, you will ensure compliance with legislation and contribute to smooth project delivery across active construction zones.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with highways departments, utility providers, and internal teams to obtain approvals and coordinate traffic control measures.
  • Support site teams with advice and guidance on traffic-related issues & diversions
  • Manage permit and TTRO (Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) applications, including timeframes and renewals, parking suspensions, bus-stop suspensions.
  • Respond to and resolve any traffic-related incidents or public concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Attend site specific weekly meetings.
  • Ensure Stop/Start permits are in line with legislation, avoiding fixed penalty notices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a traffic management or site coordination role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of traffic legislation, Chapter 8 guidelines, and streetworks regulations (NRSWA).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with local councils, subcontractors, and the public.
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent depending on region).

Desirable:

  • NRSWA Street works supervisor.
