Our client, based in Saffron Walden, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic RandD team. This is a hands-on role where you will lead product development and improvement projects from concept through to production. You'll work closely with engineers, scientists, suppliers and external partners to deliver innovative solutions that meet high standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical products using SolidWorks.
- Manage projects from conception to completion, including planning, costing and reporting.
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical documentation.
- Source materials and components, liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct testing, analyse results and present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial or RandD environments.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials%3B electronics experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and able to take ownership of tasks.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and presenting updates confidently.
