Workwithcolleaguesandpartnerstoensureacoherentcross-tenureapproachtotheCouncilshousingpoliciesandstrategies.
Responsibilities&Outcomes
1.Workingwithseniorofficers,CabinetMembersandarangeofinternalandexternalstakeholderstoleadandcoordinatethedevelopment,implementationandcontinuousreviewoftheCouncilsHousingStrategyanddeliveryplans.
2.Leadonensuringthedeliveryofhousing,includingaffordablehousing,throughtheplanningprocessandproactiveengagementwithregisteredhousingproviders,privatedevelopersandstakeholders.LeaddeliveryoftheLocalPlanobjectivesforhousingincludingthedeliveryofstrategicandmajorsites.
3.Toleadandco-ordinatetheworkofmulti-disciplinaryprojectteamstodeliverstrategichousingsites,includingcouncilofficersandpartners.Toeffectivelyapplyrelevantmanagementprocessesfinance,people,performancetodeliverhousingoutcomes.
4.Supportthedevelopment,implementation,monitoringandreviewofstrategichousingpoliciesandstrategiesfortheborough.
5.ContributetothedevelopmentandimplementationofhousingpoliciesinlinewiththeCouncilsNetZeroVision.
6.Leadonengagementandexplanationstolocalcommunitiesandotherstakeholderstheneedforaffordablehousingandthepotentialmechanismsfordelivery.
7.DevelopeffectiverelationshipswithRegisteredProviders,HomesEnglandandotherpartnerstomeetidentifiedhousingneedsandtoincreasethesupplyofbothaffordableandmarkethousingthroughdeliveringrelevantcapitalandrevenueschemesandexploringopportunitiesforfutureinvestmentanddevelopmentopportunities.
8.FacilitateaHousingPartnershipfortheboroughincludingrepresentativesfromarangeofhousingdevelopmentstakeholderstoco-deliveroutcomeswithintheHousingStrategy.
9.Developbids,initiatives,andprojectstosecureGovernmentandotherexternalfundingtomeettheCouncilsprioritiesandtoensuretheeffectivemonitoringandsubmissionofnecessaryforms.
10.Prepareandpresentreportstobothinternalandexternalagenciesandpresentupdatesonperformancethroughgovernanceframeworks.
11.Develop,continuouslyassessandmaintainaspecialistknowledgeusingdataandintelligenceofthefactorsinfluencingthehousingmarketwithintheborough.
