Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production and preparation within a restaurant environment. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations along with the Head Chef, ensuring food safety standards, and creating innovative menus that reflect our commitment to quality and hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Head Chef lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement creative menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and career development.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste.
  • Monitor kitchen performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a keen attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • A passion for culinary arts with a creative flair for menu development.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
