Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to support our defence and nuclear projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), particularly within Ministry of Defence (MOD) projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products meet stringent quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage APQP and PPAP processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies regarding quality assurance matters.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with industry and company standards.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience with APQP and PPAP methodologies.
  • Background in MOD projects
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in heavy fabrication or pressure vessel manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with welding processes and standards.
  • Current or previous UK security clearance.
  • Lean and 5S
