Legal Cashier – 2+ Years’ ExperienceLocation: Manchester / Hybrid Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + BenefitsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a busy and supportive Accounts Team at a well-established firm. If you have strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and a detail-focused approach, this role offers great variety and the flexibility of hybrid working following initial training.  The Role:Working under the guidance of the Legal Cashier – Team Leader, you’ll handle a broad range of responsibilities vital to the day-to-day financial operations of the firm. Duties include:
  • Monitoring and reconciling Office and Client accounts, allocating receipts, processing payments (Faster Payments, CHAPS, SWIFT), and handling banking transactions.
  • Managing payments and queries relating to deputy client bank accounts, including payroll, pensions, tax, and NI for employed carers.
  • Liaising with external banks to resolve payment issues and managing deposits/withdrawals from external accounts (e.g. NS&I, CFO).
  • Handling client-related tasks such as checking completion statements, processing bills, managing residual balances, and reviewing property ledgers.
  • Posting staff expenses and supplier invoices, tracking firm card usage, and supporting day-to-day cashiering tasks across the department.
  • Using case management systems to maintain accurate, up-to-date records and collaborating with colleagues to ensure compliance and service excellence.
  What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in legal cashiering within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong numerical ability.
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and confident using electronic document systems.
  • Experience with SOS Connect is an advantage but not essential.
