Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Cashier to join a busy Legal Finance Team based in Manchester city centre. This is a full-time hybrid role, working 9-5 Monday to Friday with the option to work up to 3 days remotely at home after probation. You will be able to take advantage of onsite parking and a generous salary. In addition, the firm offers a friendly working environment where the ethos is based around staff being the firms most valuable asset. Role Responsibilities

The successful Legal Cashier will have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Monitoring the main Client and Office bank accounts and allocating receipts
  • Making online payments through Office and Client accounts in accordance with their approval matrix.
  • Responding to email instructions from across the firm to set up/modify recurring transactions and resolve queries relating to their 800 individual deputy client bank accounts
  • Liaising with the firm’s banks to resolve any payment concerns or issues
  • Depositing and withdrawing funds from external deposit accounts (such as NS&I & CFO)
  • Processing Carers’ payroll
  • Downloading HMLR statements to process through the Office account and ensuring the correct VAT is applied
  • Monitoring and applying the charges on the firm’s general credit cards, deputy debit cards and cheque control accounts
  • Banking and recording cheques into the appropriate account
  • Checking property completion statements against client ledgers
  • Checking and processing bills
  • Monitoring clients’ residual balances
  • Posting and paying staff expenses and supplier ledger
  • Conducting other tasks as requested

Person Specification

The incoming Legal Cashier will have experience of working in a finance department as a Legal Cashier or a Finance Assistant. In addition, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • You will need to be numerate and accurate, with a keen attention to detail and be able to
  • demonstrate a good knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rule
  • You should enjoy working in a team and have strong communication skills
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience of legal cashiering
  • Good organisational skills essential
  • Confident in maintaining documentation in electronic form/PDFs/folders etc…
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel & Word essential
