About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Salford supporting in Key Stage 1. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about working with young children and helping them reach their full potential.

You will be supporting a range of classes within KS1, assisting the class teacher with daily activities, behaviour management, and providing one-on-one support to children with additional needs as required. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse experience within a supportive school environment.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Assist with the supervision of pupils during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Provide individual or small group support to children, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Help with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing teaching materials and displays.
  • Support the children with their social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (ideally EYFS or KS1).
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with children.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a new DBS check.
