We are seeking a Senior Energy Officer to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality energy management solutions across education, housing, and local authority sectors. This role involves a significant focus on energy efficiency, technical support, and project management to ensure optimal use of energy and water resources in line with the Council's Energy Strategy.
Day-to-day of the role:- Analyse metered energy and water data to identify opportunities for energy reduction.
- Provide technical support and analysis of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and heating controls.
- Conduct detailed site inspections and technical energy audits, making recommendations to reduce energy costs and fulfil national statutory requirements.
- Manage major energy projects, ensuring they are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
- Maintain an accurate energy management database, advising on energy efficiency.
- Liaise with energy and utility suppliers, handling queries and monitoring performance.
- Assist in securing funding and developing Service Level Agreements.
- Support the procurement of energy and water contracts and prepare business cases for energy improvement measures.
- Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering/environmental discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an Energy Management environment.
- Accredited qualification to produce Display Energy Certificates and Advisory Reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and energy management database packages like SystemsLink.
- Extensive experience in energy and water audits within local authority or large organisations.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present energy management information effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant energy-related policies, legislation, and initiatives.
- Excellent report writing skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and establish good working relationships.
