Job Title: Phonics & Literacy Teaching Assistant
Location: Salford

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in phonics, reading and literacy.
  • Support early reading development using phonics- based approaches.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide targeted support to build confidence and fluency.
  • Adapt sessions for learners with additional needs, including SEN or speech and language difficulties.
  • Monitor and track progress, provide regular updates to parents/ carers and the wider educational team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of Phonics experience
  • Strong understanding of phonics frameworks and literacy teaching strategies.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have or be willing to undertake Enhanced DBS check.

Desired:

  • QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with SEN
  • Training in structurred phonics programmes.
