Child Care Solicitor – 3 Years PQELocation: Manchester / HybridSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience + Excellent BenefitsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Child Care Solicitor to join a leading family law team. This is a chance to become part of a respected firm that provides high-quality legal support in both public and private children matters, with a strong reputation in advocacy and client care.  The Role:You’ll play a key role within the Child Care department, handling a diverse and challenging caseload while also contributing to the growth and development of the team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Managing your own caseload of child care matters, including public law children proceedings, child protection issues, adoption, special guardianship, and child abduction cases.
  • Undertaking your own advocacy where appropriate.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, trainees, and caseworkers, ensuring caseloads are appropriately managed and deadlines met.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members on complex matters.
  • Contributing to the delivery of training and continued professional development within the department.
  • Engaging in business development activities and promoting the firm’s family services through marketing and networking initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Solicitor with between NQ and 3 years’ PQE in Child Care Law.
  • Solid experience handling both public and private children law matters.
  • Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of performance management and key performance indicators.
  • Confident advocate with experience representing clients in court (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a calm and professional approach to working with vulnerable clients.
  • Strong organisational and document management abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware and proactive in seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with legal case management systems.
  • A valid, clean practising certificate is essential.
