We’re seeking a Head of Matrimonial Solicitor to lead and develop the firm’s family law offering, with a focus on high-value divorce and financial remedy cases, and wider strategic direction of the department.The Role:As Head of Matrimonial, you will play a key role in shaping and growing the department, while managing a high-quality caseload and mentoring junior members of the team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the Matrimonial team and driving departmental strategy.
  • Managing a caseload of complex divorce and financial relief matters – often involving high-net-worth individuals, business interests, and international elements.
  • Overseeing team performance, supervision, and compliance.
  • Representing clients in court, including contested hearings where advocacy is required.
  • Supporting firm-wide growth through business development and client relationship management.
  • Working closely with marketing and management teams to enhance the firm’s reputation in family law.
  • Acting as the go-to advisor on complex legal issues within the department.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A qualified Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE and strong experience in matrimonial law.
  • Proven track record in handling high-value and complex family cases
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Confident advocate with the ability to represent clients at hearings.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and a strategic mindset.
  • A commitment to delivering the highest levels of client care and professional standards.
