Residential Possession Senior ParalegalManchester / Hybrid WorkingSalary: Competitive, DOEA leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Possession Senior Paralegal to join their well-established and growing Residential Litigation team. This role sits within a specialist sub-team focused on possession proceedings on behalf of landlords. If you have a passion for landlord and tenant law, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with reputable clients across the private landlord and insurance sectors.  The Role:You will provide specialist legal advice and support to landlords in possession matters, dealing with a variety of tenancy types. As a key member of the team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Acting for private landlords and insurer clients in possession proceedings under assured shorthold tenancies (ASTs), assured tenancies, Rent Act tenancies, and common law tenancies.
  • Advising clients on the correct legal procedures for recovering possession and ensuring compliance with pre-action protocols.
  • Drafting and issuing court proceedings and managing cases through to eviction.
  • Handling a high-volume caseload, prioritising urgent matters, and delivering effective solutions in tight timescales.
  • Liaising with clients, court staff, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Opportunity to assist with defended claims, including disrepair and unlawful eviction counterclaims, depending on experience.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling residential possession claims, ideally representing landlords.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal and procedural framework around recovering possession of residential property.
  • Experience with defended actions, disrepair claims, or housing litigation is beneficial but not essential.
  • Law Degree, LPC or working towards CILEX qualification is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality correspondence and legal documents.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A client-focused mindset, delivering excellent service with professionalism and empathy.
  • A collaborative attitude, willing to support colleagues and adapt to evolving team needs.
