- Acting for private landlords and insurer clients in possession proceedings under assured shorthold tenancies (ASTs), assured tenancies, Rent Act tenancies, and common law tenancies.
- Advising clients on the correct legal procedures for recovering possession and ensuring compliance with pre-action protocols.
- Drafting and issuing court proceedings and managing cases through to eviction.
- Handling a high-volume caseload, prioritising urgent matters, and delivering effective solutions in tight timescales.
- Liaising with clients, court staff, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Opportunity to assist with defended claims, including disrepair and unlawful eviction counterclaims, depending on experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling residential possession claims, ideally representing landlords.
- In-depth knowledge of the legal and procedural framework around recovering possession of residential property.
- Experience with defended actions, disrepair claims, or housing litigation is beneficial but not essential.
- Law Degree, LPC or working towards CILEX qualification is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality correspondence and legal documents.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
