Description

The Role

As Strategic Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.

  • Act as the strategic lead for all procurement and contract management activity.

  • Provide expert procurement advice across the business and ensure compliance with the Procurement Act and other legislation.

  • Drive value-for-money initiatives, including cashable savings and social value outcomes.

  • Report to senior stakeholders including the Senior Leadership Team and Audit & Risk Committee.

  • Develop and oversee a robust procurement workplan ensuring timely and effective tendering, contract oversight, and policy adherence.

Profile

Candidate Profile

We're seeking a motivated and forward-thinking procurement professional who:

  • Holds a relevant professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS, CIPS, or equivalent) or has significant experience in procurement leadership.

  • PA23 practitioner or knowledgeable in the new procurement regulations.
  • Has strong commercial awareness, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.

  • Can demonstrate experience in embedding procurement best practices and contract management systems.

  • Has a passion for delivering public value and driving operational efficiency.
