Job Advert: Learning Support Assistant - SEN

About the Role:Hays Education is recruiting on behalf of a primary partnership centre for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for individuals who are Team Teach trained or have other relevant training. Experience in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting is highly desirable, as is a Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification. Candidates with relevant experience that carries transferable skills, such as support work, will also be considered for this role. Successful candidates may need to complete some Hays Education relevant training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN.
  • Implement strategies to manage and support challenging behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.

Key Requirements:

  • Team Teach trained or other relevant training.
  • Experience in a PRU setting is desirable.
  • TA qualification is desirable.
  • Relevant experience with transferable skills (e.g., support work).
