Long-Term Teachers are excited to be recruiting multiple SEMH Teaching Assistants for a new and growing specialist school in Salisbury, with full-time roles available across both primary and secondary phases, starting September 2025.

This purpose-built provision supports pupils aged 4 - 19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism and associated learning difficulties. The school offers a nurturing, trauma-informed environment and a highly personalised approach to education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in helping pupils build emotional resilience, access learning and thrive both socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in 1:1 or small group settings

  • Contribute to the delivery of tailored education and therapeutic interventions

  • Promote a safe, calm and emotionally supportive classroom environment

  • Assist with communication, regulation, behaviour and daily routines

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure consistent care

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable groups (essential)

  • Background supporting individuals with SEMh, autism or additional needs (desirable)

  • Calm, patient and able to build strong, trusting relationships

  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills

  • Passionate about inclusive education and pupil development
