Are you nurturing, patient, and passionate about early years education? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Alderbury is seeking a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception (Year R) child with learning and communication needs.



About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the early stages of a child's educational journey. You will support a young learner with additional needs, helping them engage in classroom activities, develop communication and interaction skills, and feel confident in their environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support for a Reception pupil with identified learning and communication needs

  • Implement strategies from the child's EHCP and work closely with the SENCO and class teacher

  • Adapt activities and instructions to suit the child's developmental level and learning style

  • Encourage social interaction and promote a calm, nurturing environment

  • Track progress and provide feedback to the teaching team and parents



Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children in Early Years or with SEN (preferred but not essential)

  • A kind, patient, and enthusiastic approach to learning and support

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of early child development and inclusive teaching practices

  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable)
