An exciting opportunity has become available for a Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Product Design to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Salisbury from September 2025.

The school is looking to appoint someone long-term, with the view to offering a permanent position to the right person. This is a brilliant role for someone who thrives on inspiring young people and bringing the world of design and innovation to life in the classroom.

The Design & Technology department is well-resourced and highly valued, playing an important role in developing pupils’ creativity, problem-solving skills and technical understanding.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Product Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Encouraging students to explore materials, design processes and real-world applications

  • Creating a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment

  • Using a range of assessment strategies to track progress and provide tailored support

  • Contributing to curriculum development within the DT department

  • Supporting wider school life through clubs, enrichment, and extra-curricular opportunities

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in Product Design, Design & Technology or a related subject

  • Experience teaching Product Design to secondary-age pupils (Key Stages 3 and 4)

  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date awareness of curriculum changes

  • A passion for practical, hands-on teaching that inspires young minds

  • Excellent organisation, classroom management, and communication skills

  • Applications welcomed from both experienced teachers and early career teachers (ECTs)
