Location: Wiltshire, UKSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefitsWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team, working on innovative engineering projects from concept through to production. This role involves the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support mechanical design projects, managing your own output and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.
  • Capture and translate requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Design and develop mechanical subsystems, applying principles of structural integrity, materials selection, and systems integration.
  • Apply design-for-manufacture techniques for both prototype and production environments.
  • Manage and coordinate with suppliers to meet technical and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct and support subsystem and system-level testing, documenting results and driving improvements.
  • Maintain configuration control and produce technical documentation in line with project needs.
  • Present at technical reviews and contribute to project planning and delivery.
Skills & Experience
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system sizing and first-principles engineering.
  • Experience with prototype and production manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Systems engineering experience across the full lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools and composite materials.
  • Familiarity with configuration/document management tools.
  • Experience with mechanical systems integration and testing.
Personal Attributes
  • Self-motivated, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
  • Eligible to work in the UK, with the ability to meet security clearance requirements.
