This Embedded Software Engineer position is working for a manufacturing company in Salisbury. The position is hybrid, Monday to Friday. The role is also paying up to £45,000 depending on experience.

This role involves developing embedded software for high-end streaming audio systems. Key duties include writing C/C++ code for ARM processors or embedded Linux, creating drivers, supporting external modules, and defining interfaces between processors. You'll collaborate with DSP and hardware teams, prototype new concepts, and assist in hardware bring-up using debugging tools. Strong C programming skills and embedded systems experience are essential, with C++ and Linux knowledge desirable. Responsibilities also include documentation, peer code reviews, and following structured development practices using tools like Git and Jira. A personal interest in audio or consumer electronics is beneficial.

You will need:

  • Previous experience within a Embedded Software Engineer position
  • A degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar is preferred
  • Strong C programming skills are required
  • Previous experience with ARM and embedded systems
  • Experience with embedded Linux is advantageous
  • Knowledge of electronic debugging is desirable
