Join Our Team as a Learning Mentor

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and resilient individuals to join our team as Learning Mentors.

Our alternative provision academy offers a supportive and personalised learning environment for students who are unable to attend mainstream education. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome complex challenges and re-engage with their education.

The Role in Detail

This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to build meaningful connections and change lives. You will provide one-to-one support to students aged 5 to 16, addressing both their behavioural and academic needs. Your work will include:

  • Skill Development: Helping students build vital coping strategies and life skills through engaging activities and weekly trips.

  • Academic and Pastoral Care: Providing academic assistance while also supporting students' emotional well-being.

  • Family Involvement: Working alongside families to create a stable home environment that supports the student's learning and behaviour.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking compassionate and motivated people who are eager to make a positive impact. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with challenging behaviours.

  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent experience.

  • A full driving licence (preferred).

  • An understanding of school safeguarding and digital literacy.

Why Work with Us?

We believe in supporting our team members so they can, in turn, provide the best support for our students. We offer:

  • A Supportive Environment: You'll receive supportive coaching and training to help you grow and succeed in your role.

  • Work-Life Balance: We offer bespoke contracts to fit your availability and provide a Wellbeing Afternoon once every half term. We also understand the importance of family and will accommodate your need to attend special events for your own children, such as Sports Day or a Christmas play.
