CAD Technician/Design Engineer

Industry: Security Fencing and Gates

Our client is a market leader in security fencing and gates, serving prestigious clients such as the Ministry of Defence (M.O.D.), Premier League football clubs and Data Centres. They are expanding their team and looking for a skilled and motivated CAD Technician/ Design Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Sandbach. This is an office based role and heavily focussed on CAD drawing. You will be responsible for using your CAD expertise to enhance the precision and efficiency of the CAD Team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to produce scheme drawings and layouts that meet customer specifications. Ensure designs adhere to industry standards and regulations, while also optimizing for cost-effectiveness and ease of manufacturing.
  • CAD Expertise: Demonstrate extensive knowledge in AutoCAD 2D, and 3D, Autodesk Inventor/ iLogic or Solidworks
  • Manufacturing Drawings: Produce detailed manufacturing drawings that seamlessly translate designs into physical products.
  • Metal Fabrication Knowledge: Design structures with a strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques to ensure functionality and durability.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with team members
  • R&D Experience: Designing new products and helping to get them through certification
  • Project Documentation: Use Microsoft Office and Google Docs for various documentation tasks and project management.
Requirements
  • AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent software like SolidWorks).
  • Autodesk Inventor iLogic Programming: Familiarity with iLogic programming to enhance automation and customization.
  • AutoCAD 2D Auto Parameters: Knowledge of auto parameters for improved design efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Drawings: Proven experience in creating detailed drawings for manufacturing purposes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for teamwork and client interactions.
  • Motivation: A proactive and positive attitude towards challenging projects.
  • Microsoft Office & Google Docs: Competency in these tools, particularly in spreadsheets.

Optional Skills:

  • Structural Calculation: able to work out scriptural calculation for wind loading
  • Excel Formulas: Proficiency in Excel formulas for data analysis and reporting.
