The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled System Engineer to join their innovative engineering team. You will be responsible for systems engineering and analysis across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to end-of-life. Working collaboratively with product line, mechanical, and software teams, you will ensure that technical requirements are met and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient and commercially aware engineer with experience in electro-optics or electro-mechanics, ideally within a defence or homeland security environment.

Your Role

  • Analyse, capture and generate specifications for products and systems
  • Provide technical support to sales and business development teams
  • Prepare commercially astute technical proposals, reports, and documentation
  • Identify risks in new product introduction and develop effective mitigation strategies
  • Stay updated with the latest systems engineering technologies and best practices
  • Undertake customer and supplier visits as required

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Physics, or Electronics (higher qualification preferred)
  • Experience in systems engineering, electro-optics, or electro-mechanics
  • Strong skills in system analysis using software tools such as MATLAB, Octave, C#, or Python
  • Knowledge of control theory, servo systems, and GIS is advantageous
  • Effective communicator with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of defence-related environmental and EMC standards (Mil-Stds, DEF-STANs)
  • Ability to perform FMEA analysis

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be eligible for SC-level security clearance.
