CNC Milling Machinist

Salary: £17 - £18 per hour
Are you a skilled CNC Milling Machinist looking for a rewarding role in a respected and long-established engineering manufacturing company?
We are seeking a CNC Milling Machinist to join our client’s team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role where you will play a vital part in creating high-quality components for custom-designed machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC milling machinery to produce high-quality components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to meet specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools to inspect and verify machined parts.
- Contribute to a policy of valued engineering within the factory.
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, discipline, attendance, and punctuality.
- Use your knowledge and experience to identify and implement productivity improvements in equipment or procedures.
Requirements:
- Preferred: City & Guilds qualifications or an Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Essential: At least 4 years of CNC machining experience if formal qualifications are not held.
- Ability to read drawings and inspect your work with precision measuring tools.
- A proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
- Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.
- A keen eye for quality and productivity improvements.
Working Hours
- Mon: 7.30am - 4pm
- Tues: 7.30am - 4.30pm
- Weds & Thurs: 7.30am - 5pm
- Fri: 7.30am - 12pm
Contracted Hours: 39 hours/week
Breaks: 10am - 10.10 am (10-minute morning break) & 1pm – 1.30pm (30-minute lunch break)
Overtime is generally available and is paid at 1.5x the hourly rate Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. A reasonable amount of overtime is expected as per Supervisor/Manager requests.
