Mechanical Design Engineer

Design Engineer | Engineering & Manufacturing | Sandy, Bedfordshire | Up to £50,000 DOE

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering firm based inSandy, Bedfordshire, looking for aDesign Engineerto join their growing team. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to someone with solid CAD skills and an engineering background.

The Role:

• Design bespoke equipment using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD

• Collaborate with internal teams and liaise directly with suppliers

• Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines

• Support design calculations and system specifications

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD

• Strong engineering background

• Experience designing mechanical systems (e.g. pneumatics, fluid/steam systems, gearboxes)

• Practical knowledge of stress calculations, tolerance, and sheet metal development

• Hands-on shop floor experience or apprenticeship background (advantageous)

Whats Offered:

• Salary up to £50,000 per year, depending on experience

• 40-hour week, MonFri with early finish on Fridays

• 22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service)

• On-site parking, occasional overtime available
