The Hotel is located in 150 acres of idyllic Hertfordshire countryside, yet is within easy reach of major motorways and airports and offers free on-site parking for 200 cars. Situated in Sawbridgeworth, and 3 miles from Harlow, with Stansted Airport approximately 20 minutes drive from this beautifully restored Georgian Manor House.

The stunning architecture and picturesque grounds provide the perfect backdrop for conferences and events with a capacity of up to 400 guests.

The Hotel has 80 bedrooms, including superior and four poster bedrooms for that extra special break plus complimentary access to the state of the art leisure club with gym, pool, sauna and steam room. A range of beauty treatments are also available.

The 18 hole Championship Golf Course is designed around the Hotel and provides a challenging, yet enjoyable experience, regardless of handicap.


Job Summary

As Night Duty Manager, you will report to the Hotel Manager and will work alongside the reception team and be very customer focused. We are looking for someone with Hotel background who is used to working in a highly pressurized environment and can multi-task and experience in Handling Guest queries or any other ad-hoc bookings. The Night Duty Manager will have bags of personality with a positive & problem-solving attitude. This job is based on weekly rosters and requires full flexibility throughout the week including weekends.


Night Duty Manager Responsibilities

  • Ensure guests' needs are met from check-in to check-out and throughout their stay
  • Provide outstanding customer service in accordance with hotel standards
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to fulfill guest requests promptly
  • Familiarize yourself with promotions and upsell hotel services
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures while interacting with guests
  • Conduct cashiering duties as needed and balance daily financial transactions
  • Communicate effectively with guests and handle any incoming communications promptly
  • Guarantee a good coordination in between Hotel's department
  • Manage Night Room service
  • Understand and demonstrate correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
  • Handle complaints promptly and effectively
  • Manage guest parking services and associated charges
  • Ensure appropriate handover and clear communication within the department and with other departments where required
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
  • Comply with Health & Safety and ensure the safety checks & fire walks are done regularly
  • Prepare and oversee morning setups for Food & Beverage service and events, ensuring all arrangements align with hotel occupancy forecasts and function sheet requirements.


Requirements

  • Be able to manage & train the team
  • Have an honest interest in hospitality and Hotel business
  • Be passionate and excel in customer service
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be IT friendly, comfortable with admin task
  • It would be an advantage if you have previous experience of carrying out the night duty manager function within Rezlynx system.
  • Exceptional customer care skills
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of Local area
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the hotel
  • Constantly improve knowledge and show a desire to learn, attend companys trainings
  • Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance to ensure the department runs efficiently, and assist in the event of absence cover
