Are you an experienced Finance Manager seeking a high-impact role in a growing, multi-division SME based in the Scarborough area? Do you have a background in property, manufacturing, engineering, or other operational sectors? This opportunity offers autonomy, commercial responsibility, and a genuine voice at leadership level.

We are excited to be working exclusively with a business that operates across diverse revenue. Due to continued growth, they are now recruiting for a skilled and strategic Finance Manager to lead and evolve their finance function.

This role is ideal for a qualified accountant or experienced finance professional looking for their next senior challenge in a commercially driven SME environment.

What the Finance Manager job involves

  • Full ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, and reporting
  • Prepare and analyse P&L, variances, and cash flow forecasts
  • Oversee VAT returns, PAYE, bank reconciliations, and liaise with external accountants
  • Evaluate investments, cost-saving opportunities, and supplier contracts
  • Support long-term growth through insightful financial planning and analysis
  • Supervise of a team member and support wider business operations

This is a hands-on role that demands strong financial control and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.

Skills required

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by experience with strong SME experience.
  • Excellent understanding of cash flow, multi-revenue models, and seasonal income
  • Proficiency in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms
  • Strong eye for detail with a proactive, adaptable mindset and the confidence to work independently and influence decision-making
