About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and organized Operational Support Clerk to join the Children & Families team. This role provides vital administrative support across education services, including reception duties, data management, minute-taking, and liaison with multi-agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an efficient and confidential switchboard and reception service, responding to enquiries from staff, the public, police, health, and education professionals.
  • Provide administrative support such as typing, photocopying, mail handling, and document collation.
  • Support meeting preparation, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and management information systems.
  • Handle cash and process invoices in line with financial procedures.
  • Adhere to safeguarding protocols and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in general office duties (telephone, post, photocopying)
  • Proficient in IT applications (Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
  • Numerate and literate (GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English)
  • Reliable, honest, and punctual
  • Availability for immediate start and interview

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Child Protection
  • Minute-taking skills
  • Experience producing documents from drafts
  • Customer care experience
