Exciting Opportunity for a Traffic Regulation Officer in North Lincolnshire.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a delivery-focused Traffic Regulation Officer to join my client's established Highways & Transport team on a contract basis, supporting the delivery and legal process of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) across North Lincs.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES 3 DAYS P/WEEK IN THE OFFICE
The main duties of the Traffic Regulation Officer are:
路Assess the feasibility and deliverability of proposed TROs in line with national and local regulations.
路Draft and develop TROs under the Road Traffic Regulation Act (RTRA) 1984.
路Liaise with Legal Services to ensure all TROs are legally sealed and compliant.
路Prepare and submit reports for the Executive as part of the decision-making process.
路Provide professional advice and support to internal departments and external stakeholders.
路Oversee the on-site implementation of TROs in collaboration with the Professional Services team.
路Monitor and interpret legislation, policy, and industry best practice regarding TRO processes.
路Respond to enquiries from councillors, MPs, and members of the public regarding traffic schemes.
路Support the maintenance and accuracy of TRO-related software systems and digital records.
路Carry out post-scheme audits to evaluate effectiveness and validity of implemented TROs.
路Manage competing priorities and maintain flexibility to meet operational demands.
路Work in line with information governance protocols and data protection requirements.
The Traffic Regulation Officer will have key experience in:
路Drafting, implementing, and evaluating Traffic Regulation Orders within a local authority setting.
路Providing technical and procedural advice to a range of stakeholders.
路Writing reports and presenting findings to Executive-level bodies.
路Interpreting TRO legislation and applying it practically to real-world scenarios.
路Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative working.
路High attention to detail and the ability to follow precise procedures.
路Excellent time management and independent workload prioritisation.
路Problem-solving and conflict resolution within public or political environments.
路Ideally, ability to use CAD for scheme plans and technical drawings.
路HND or equivalent experience in highways or transport-related discipline.
路Level 2 or above in Literacy and Numeracy.
路A flexible approach to working hours and on-site requirements.
